Inescapable

Salty drops of liquid run batons down my cheeks as I remember

Single mothers with kids looking for warmth and food in this cold weather

The kid molested, disgraced and maltreated in school screaming black lives matter

The homeless man on the streets of Accra who survives on coins dropped by the compassionate passer

The last time, I was quiet sitting in my corner

Reminiscing on the doom that has befallen this generation and era

Humanity screaming for water in the Amazon and Australia

Poor girl that lost her life numbing pain with lean because she couldn’t be sober

Feels like the world is caving in and my presence doesn’t matter

Wish I knew the ways of this world and its repertoire

Should I stand and watch as this filth continues to bespatter?

Here I am trying to save the world from my iphone

Numerous hashtags of BLM and Endsars but help is only a handful

Heads hit pillows at night and sleep flees because tomorrow might hold something more distasteful

Get your masks strapped, sanitize your hands for this new pandemic is dreadful

Saw something on the news last time that made me sad and really tearful

Don’t know which is best, to not procreate or be fruitful

A three year old girl lost her life after falling into campground septic tank in Cape May

Condolences to family and friends, I guess it’s high time someone signaled Mayday Mayday!

Questions and debates about the whole gamut of human existence increase by the day

Confused as Shakespeare’s Macbeth, I sit and say,

Come what come may

For time and hour run through the roughest day.

  1. Very interesting brother. My brain isn’t hot wired to think of something like this and you do it like it’s nothing. Great work👏👏👏
